National Geographic ‘Legends of Spain – Canary Islands’
Nestled off the coast of Northwestern Africa, the Canary Islands is a Spanish archipelago of 8 volcanic islets.
But there have been whispers of a ninth phantom island, that appears and disappears before your eyes. First discovered by an Irish monk, Saint Brendan, in the 15th century, legend tells that a giant fish carried St Brendan's ship to this mysterious paradise island, therein known as San Barandon.
And so the search for both the legend, and its local storytellers begins.
